I think you mean the Ditty books and the photocopiable Ditty masters. They are different material. . The Ditty books precede the green level and are simple phrases and sentences to teach cvc words with some high frequency words. The entry test passages will level your pupils and direct you as to whether the student nows enough grapheme phoneme correspondences to use the Ditty books. So you'll need the handbook too.
