Article: [SENco-forum] Times Tables

I agree with Tim :) My daughter has a tremendous amount of difficulty with tables (actually with most aspects of maths). School have been trying by various means to get her to learn the times tables and we work on them at home. BUT even when she know them off by heart, which eventually she does, she has absolutely no idea how to apply that knowledge to any calculation, so it seems a bit pointless!> From: tgrupp at ntlworld.com> To: SEN at tringham.net; senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk> Subject: Re: [SENco-forum] Times Tables> Date: Sun, 11 Nov 2007 15:47:17 +0000> CC: > > Strictly speaking there are expectations about the 'learning' of times > tables that are couched in the Primary Numeracy Strategy.> > In there it suggests that children should have knowledge of the 2,5 & 10 > times tables by the end of KS1.
