Silly me too ! I have this vision of parents suing us because we did not explain properly ,others suing us because we did not give this facility to their offspring and parents of the "2 months to go before the exam ,never had any difficulty accessing anything in school before ,got levels 6 and 7 in KS3 SATs and are above average or average in every assessment you can throw at them ,suddenly diagnosed as being dyslexic " students wanting us to read every word to their offspring . Please dont take my last category as my being dismissive of those with dyslexia,I do my utmost to secure whatever help I can for all students who have a real need, it is just that I get a steady stream of such demands in the run up to the exams and I can see this new arrangement adding fuel to the fire. Sorry the whole exams process makes me despair and it saps my will to live sometime. This just puts the chocolate on the ice cream. gaynor From: Mmilesep at aol.com Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2007 16:01:01 -0500 Subject: Re: [senco-forum] Access arrangements To: gadunkley at hotmail.co.uk; senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk In a message dated 13/11/2007 20:40:13 GMT Standard Time, gadunkley at hotmail.co.uk writes: exams officer has just been on new access arrangements course and she has come back saying that the boards are now proposing that for certain students text in exam papers can not only be read to the student it can also be explained. There's an even better way. What about the students stay in bed and we adults sit the exam for them and then tell them how it was for us. This has nothing to do with showing an ever upward improvement in exam results does it?
