I'll third that on Developing Tray. Its strength is the facility to set up partially deleted text that you write yourself, so you can focus on 'reading for meaning' and / or on particular letter strings. Used in this way, it isn't really cloze because the deletions aren't random or 'every nth word'. That said, compared with its predecessor for the BBC micro, I find it quite a slog to tailor it as I really want it; and I don't find the presentation of the text very easy on the eye, particularly two horizontal lines (= ) for each deleted character in the 'preset' texts. (It wasn't much to look at, but I still yearn for that old BBC program...and 'Brick-Up') Biff ----- Original Message ----- From: "senco_rik" <senco_rik at ntlworld.com> To: "'IFESENI OLABISI'" <seni63 at btinternet.com>; "'SEN Forum'" <senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk> Sent: Friday, November 23, 2007 11:11 AM Subject: RE: [senco-forum] Cloze >I love 2Simple "Devtray" > http://www.2simple.com/devtray/ > More simple yet more powerful than several other cloze programs I > have used.
