The draft regs are out now on the JCQ site and it does say: "N.B It is only for access arrangements that must be approved by the awarding body that an assessment must be carried out either during the teaching programme leading to the award of the specification(s) concerned or within 2 years of the start of the examination series" (Page 31). Suggestion - I would highlight the relevant parts of the private assessment, and then complete Section A & B of a Form 8 (referring to data or excerpts from the report under "History of need") and place all of this on file, signed by Exams Officer or Head of Centre. Reports need to be less than two years old for their recommendations to be allowed. And again - I hope that I am right! Haven't done any for a year! Working in a private school a lot of pupils have private assessments done. Am I right in assuming that they do not need another one if it is in Secondary Years (except if applying to board eg for laptop). If so how do I cope with the paper work. This means there is no Form C. Is a copy of a report on file enough for type C arrangements.? Any suggestions? P Scott |
