And avoid doing ALS - you won't need it at all if you get Miskin. It is a very confusing way of teaching in my opinion and even the British government have rewritten the National Literacy Strategy. Look at the dfes site for their publication called letters and sounds - Now that really is good!! Exemplary in fact. http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/primary/publications/literacy/letters_sounds/ If the link doesn't work it came up on google with the key words letters sounds principles dfes and for those kids for whom all this fails, and where there is not a dyslexia trained specialist, look at Dyslexia Guidance by Turner and Bodien. Beyond that visual and auditory processing are real blocks to learning too.
