Article: [senco-forum] applications for special arrangements

Sorry - yes. It is almost impossible to do, isn't it. I'd send them in anyway and see if they come back in time.
The draft new Regulations are on http://www.jcq.org.uk/attachments/published/421/Draft%20RAG%2007-08.pdf
They are still in draft form because of some hold up connected with the DDA.

I sent my first load of applications in for readers only because I couldn't do all the scribing tests in time for the deadline and I couldn't start in July (which is 'within two years') because I wanted to use the new regulation which lets me do the tests and not have to get in someone else who has one of the 'recognised qualifications'.

There is also the matter of how you manage GCSE coursework and science written tests when candidates qualify for a reader and a scribe - but that's another story.

Amanda, thanks for this info; am I right in thinkin then that I should applied by September in readiness for the AQA Science objective tests which is in November (there are 3 of them in November, March and June for each year of the course). There's always something that's designed to sabotage the weekend!

September 30th was the cut off date for November exams. Look on http://www.jcq.org.uk/attachments/published/421/Draft%20RAG%2007-08.pdf for details.

Would someone be able to advise me as to when I should submit an application for GCSE special arrangements; the young person has been assesed at the start of his GCSE course and the paper work completed; I'm just anxious that the arrangements should be in place in plenty of time particularly as some assessments are planned for November of this year.
