Yes you're right Alice. The BDA started out as a charity in support for parents and to raise awareness of dyslexia and its strength has developed over the years. I should point out that I greatly value the BDA, it certainly provided me with a life saving wealth of support and advice when I sought help both as a parent and as a professional. I was an active member of my local BDA for years. I used PATOSS to point out that there are many other good charitable/ professional bodies out there. What happens when they all demand their own accreditation for courses? Jean, I wish there were more courses and qualifications for LSA's. So many LSA's are worth their weight in gold. Maybe the qualifications they get could be described in some other form that shows BDA approval, that wouldn't get confused with those with teacher status. I know qualified teachers with RSA. Dip but don't have AMBDA status, where does that leave them? Cheers Sheridan No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
