Have replied to Tracey off forum. Sent her an attachment of lengthy notes I made comparing Ruth Miskin literacy with phase 1 & 2 of the DFES letters and sounds principles publication. Will send to anyone else who is interested. It will only be of interest to those who have both RML and wish to use dfes letters and sounds too. and since Tracey asked, our book is available direct from nfer-nelsons web site. There is some slight commercial interest involved but the reason for spending 6 years and quite a bit of the middle of the night time writing it was not financial I assure you! It would cost too much if my time was taken into account! It was written as various people persuaded me to do it (my initial feeling was that there is plenty in print already) and it seems it may answer a lot of questions people ask about teaching literacy.
