Hello Luisa We have a form of performance management for TAs. Each TA has a line manager, which could be me (as SENCO) or a Head of Department or the TA Team Leader. We have a very simple pro forma to organise discussion around - four questions only: 1. During the past year, which parts of your job have given you the greatest satisfaction? 2. Which parts of your job have given the least satisfaction? 3. Please note and comment on any recent training that you have had. 4. Are there any skills that you would like to develop next year? (Training needs) I have also added 'Areas to continue to develop' to my final forms because I think it is important to set targets - so far we have managed to get all our TAs to achieve the equivilant of Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy, including two who left school with no qualifications at all. We don't manage to do observations for this. However, observation of TAs did take place during our Departmental Review and is commented on in teachers' performance management reviews. Please ask of you want to know more.
