Some children grow out of the need to use the overlays as their eyes mature/adjust to reading (!) I don't know. Initially the colour changes improve their ability to read even if that is just caused by lessening the load by reducing glare. My daughters used theirs for a number of years and their reading/spelling improved straightaway, and steadily thereafter. It appears that when there is less processing drain elsewhere (improved reading fluency) they seem to no longer need the overlay. So it is not a 'test' as to whether the student ever needed the overlay it they suddenly stop using one. Sharon No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
