Article: [SENco-forum] Omega 3 study results

A couple of years ago I attended an excellent course run by a physiotherapist who is involved in the Handwriting Interest Group - she advocated the use of chalk and blackboards for children with difficulties developing handwriting- not only do small pieces of chalk promote the correct tripod grip, the action of chalk on a board provides enough resistance to give good sensory feedback to children with dyspraxic type difficulties. Maybe we threw the baby out with the bathwater!

Surely you're not old enough to have used slates and chalks, Martin? My
infant school had just stopped using them when I started there in 1951!
