Ours was in February. They wanted to see how subject teachers took account of IEPs and used TAs in the class. They really did follow the ECM agenda closely and came into Breakfast Club and break time "refuges". They liked the training we did for teachers on SEN matters and particularly that we had a Learning Support Group with reps from departments who led the SEN training sessions. Also were impresssed that pupils with unusual needs had prepared power points for fellow pupils to see in assemblies to help them to understand their syndrome/difficulty. As we have increasing numbers of EAL students (but no EAL dept) wanted to know how we helped them. I found them particularly interested in catering from emotionaL need - we are in an area with huge num, bers of very frail families. Obviously they wanted to know about how we monitored progress but it seemed to be in perspective!
