Tuxtype is available as a free download from
http://tuxtype.sourceforge.net/download It is intended to be 'fun' typing
program although it does expect you to be using the correct fingering.
Although this program is still under development it is well worth having a
look. Make sure you download the Windows version unless you use Linux. Tux
Racer http://tuxracer.sourceforge.net/ is an excellent free game from the
same stable. It is suitable for younger children or those with
physical/learning difficulties which can easily be controlled using the
left/right arrow keys [or suitably set up switches]

Subject: [senco-forum] Looking for a free or online typing program

Does anyone know of a decent typing program that parents could either
download or let the children use online? I've got a few typing ones but they
aren't very inspiring.

I want to create a "recommended program list" for things like spelling,
reading typing etc. that parents can download or use online to help the
children at home. I can recommend some parents can buy but also want to
include some freebies. Any ideas for good sites please?

Cheers

Sheridan
