Why not, instead of 'looking for evidence of dyslexia' discuss with mum and dad your perception of the child's profile what you have planned to ensure his or her progress - including the things you do for the whole class and anything extra you think the child needs - include parents in reviewing the child's progress identify together what is working to ensure and sustain that progress and ensure those interventions are part of the child's education-together you will have identified what the child needs: interventions that work - not dyslexia - those interventions may promote the progress of children diagnosed with dyslexia too but you ought not to need a label to access them. Hello
Can you give me some advice please.
What would you advise an infant / reception teacher to look for as evidence of dyslexia in a child of 5 or 6 where the family has a history of dyslexia and is anxious that the school picks this up as soon as possible.
  Thanks for your help.
