Article: [SENco-forum] Re: How many rules?

"Our job as teachers is to provide for them the
experiences they need to
learn the stuff that will be most useful to them in
life's journey. That
requires selection and careful planning on our part,
and the willingness to
stimulate them enough to keep their natural
inquisitiveness alive and not
kill it stone dead with boredom!"

Well said Mary. The system in general is set up to
focus on teaching not learning, a mass produced one
style suits all (which does not suit all) approach
that stifles the enthisiasm, creativity, originality
and individuality out of kids after they leave infants
school. Uniformity of dress, thought and action are
what is demanded and then we worry why employers fail
to employ them because they are lacking in enthisiasm,
creativity, originality and individuality!

We are breeding a nation of clones and wonder why they
rebel and try to seek an identity then punish them for it.

Best wishes,
Aly
