[senco-forum] GCSE access arrangements

Hello everyone
  Secondary SENCOs might want to check this out, especially if you have pupils taking Science Modular Tests.
  Last term we were all told that the Access Arrangments rules were going to change and we no longer had to have someone with a 'recognised qualification' to sign the Specialist Teacher forms.  So I filled in the new Form 8a with my name, the names of the Teachers of the Deaf and so on.
  I looked on the website for the new Form 8, only to find that publication of the new regulations has been delayed and we are being advised to use  last year's regulations instead.  
  Well - I just can't get my Year 10s assessed by the end of September by someone else so I phoned JCQ.  I have been told that as long as my name is on Form 8a I can sign the forms for Access Arrangements and I should make sure I meet the deadline for getting forms to the exam boards.  Anyone else in the same boat might like to contact JCQ - I'm going to get back to them today and get them to put this information in writing.
