I'm coming into this discussion having missed many of the postings so I'm just responding to Alyson's reply. Do excuse me if I've grabbed the wrong end of the stick. I suspect the request for a hand written application may not have anything to do with the applicant's disability. Was the request made to just the individual or was it expected from all applicants? If it was just one person then there are issues of discrimination but if everyone was asked to provide one the company are perfectly within their rights to determine how their forms are filled in. Many state forms must be filled in with black ink etc. Today many companies ask for hand written application forms so they could do a graphology type analysis on it. Some companies take a writing sample provided by an applicant, and proceeds to do a personality profile, matching the congruency of the applicant with the ideal psychological profile of employees in the position.
