[senco-forum] Homework

  I've just read something from Sharon which said
  'I am currently up until after 9pm trying to fit ridiculous bits of meaningless homework into a stressed and busy homelife for my new Y7.   I normally insist he is in bed by 8pm.  Fat chance at the moment.'
  I try to give homework which is time limited.  I tell the pupils to spend half an hour on it or twenty minutes or whatever.  I need to know if it takes them too long.  I also stress that it has to be however many minutes work and not one hand on MSN, one eye on the telly sort of concentration!
  However, I'm also on the other side of the line too but I'm trying to convince my daughter in Year 11 that she needst to spend more time on her work and not try to work and do MSN with one eye . . . . . .
