That is because you are one of the good ones! Sadly others don't think or don't care. I prefer it to be the former! I regularly send back homework with a line under the 30 minute mark. It does not affect the type or length of homework set next time. I think that teachers need to know what a child can do in a set amount of time otherwise they will not know for sure what will be produced under any exam conditions. This said I often re-work homework to be more dyslexia friendly. I copy sums etc into the exercise book otherwise an hour or more will be wasted doing something that will include large amounts of error before calculation even begins. This way my son gets to enjoy the math, rather than be punished for the fact that he has dysgraphia. Dear Sharon, If I were setting this homework I would want you to do what you can in half an hour and send it back with a note saying that's as far as you could get in half an hour, and why. This would save you and the child the stress and help me to ensure that the homework more accurately meets the need. If you soldier on and accomplish it I would have no idea of the nightmare I might be causing you, and I would start to worry about the unduly stressed and tired child I had in my class. Surely any other reasonable teacher would want the same, wouldn't they? Best wishes, Mary No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
