[senco-forum] Advisory group for the forum

Dear Colleagues,

For a number of years now Becta has been advised by a group of Senco-forum users, chaired by Prof Klaus Wedell, on how to maximise the benefit of the list for all concerned. The remit of this group has recently changed with this group also providing insight on emerging policy issues and programmes that focus on inclusion and the needs of learners with special educational needs.

We are now looking for three SENCOs (two primary and one secondary phase) to join the group and also two members who work in a local authority support role. 

Meetings take place twice a year and travel and supply costs are provided. Although email is also used to discuss issues away from the meetings the ability to attend the meetings is seen as an important consideration. 

If you are SENCO or work in a local authority supporting the work of SENCOs, frequently use the forum, and wish to be considered for membership of this group, please contact me at Becta by 2nd May.  It would be helpful if you could indicate both your experience and view of the forum as a support mechanism.
