I think the key sentence in the Abstract is.... "Additional work is needed to investigate whether our inability to detect any improvement in motor skills reflects the measures used and to assess the durability of treatment effects on behaviour and academic progress". I have heard Alex Richardson speak several times, she is always cautious as to the effects of Omega-3 and Omega-6. This research is interesting, but it doesn't say what else was happening to this group of children. What teaching/support were they receiving? Were the improvements across the age range tested or not? Did some of the pupils in some schools perform better than others? I was going to read the summary of the main findings of the Oxford/Durham study but clicking on the link at the bottom tells me it's "forbidden". The later one was with 2000 GCSE students.
