Mary - none of us would deny that all children are equally deserving of EP advice. But even if it's good news, it's certainly not unqualified good news. The resource is being spread more thinly. It would seem unlikely that independent sector pupils have previously had less access to EP services, but presumably it's been from independent EPs. You were eating something before, I'll wager. But accessing an Local Authority EP Service would doubtless be more...cost effective. The only thing wrong with the 'let them eat cake' reference (which I suspect Brian will like)...how do I put this sensitively, without political incorrectness....is that the historical version had this being suggested for, rather than by, the less well off. (I still think your kids as just as deserving of high quality support.)
