I am very surprised too. I responded briefly last weekend but didn't get to it in the week. I am now part of SLT and I feel that I have been able to make much more of a contribution than my line manager could because he often had to get back to me to ask for more information. I am going to respond to the consultation by saying I think the SENCO should be part of SLT. I am concerned about some of the other proposals too. Klaus Wedell brought it to our attention a few days ago. Are SENCos generally happy that it is no longer thought necessary for them to be on the SLT. Is the feeling that a 'champion' will be sufficient? Kate Amanda Secondary SENCO Cornwall |
