Sorry Jamie This message descended into 'scribble' for me because I don't understand how to 'chip students' (frying tonight? I could offer some names!) and RFID? BSF? tags? I do happen to know about the SENIT mailing list so I know it is something to do with computers. Amanda Secondary SENCO Cornwall Jamie Munro <jmunro at djsn.co.uk> wrote: Over on the SENIT mailing list, discussion on how to chip students using RFID tags seems to have already begun. " Where we have been working in schools under BSF we have been getting a lot of questions about RFID recently If this is something you've heard of but don't really know what it is weve added a free elearning course on RFID courtesy of Abhisam software Whilst it doesn't talk about schools, the tutorial does explain what the tags are, how they differ from barcodes and some practical applications If you are working on vision or output spec under BSf you may find it useful background information to help You'll find it under our general IT courses at www.abilitynettraining.org Always interested to hear from others experience of using RFID tags in schools and consider some of the potential for pupils with SEN - anyone tried anything interesting ?" > From: > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2008 07:55:46 -0000 > To: Becta Senco > Subject: [senco-forum] Press Notice No. 12 from the Children, Schools and > Families Committee > > Press Notice No. 12 from the Children, Schools and Families CommitteeNot > sure if anyone is interested in this.
