Hi Why not buy a diesel car and it on biofuel? Their are three options: 1) Run the engine on vegetable oil* 2) Buy biodiesel 3) Convert vegetable oil to biodiesel yourself*. * You have to pay tax to the Customs and Excise! I like option 2 because I have a DCi engine so option 1 is out and I am far too lazy for option 3. If you want to drive down the cost of fuel and save the planet the fix lies in making the alternatives viable. Once the market shifts towards biodiesel, fuel companies will supply it (currently a small group of independant suppliers do most trading). Moreover, govt has made the entire tax on fuel issue about global warming (and not just raising cash to pay nurses and teachers) so it will need to make sure that biodiesel is significantly cheaper than dinodiesel for some time to come. Big smiles all round. Also avoiding the big two oil producers will make life miserable for the frnachise owners that run petrol stations and increase the market share of the multiples who earn in enough in non fuel revenue not to worry too much about biofuels anyway.
