In a message dated 05/02/2008 20:24:49 GMT Standard Time, sen.marketing at dsl.pipex.com writes: Esso and BP might be the biggest companies, but Shell is not insignificant. My local Sainsbury is cheap, but no longer the cheapest in town. Its fuel comes from BP. Seems so simple at one level, but no matter which supermarket sells it, the big players will have a finger in the pie. Esso, BP etc probably make the same dosh from supermarkets as they do form there own franchises (no overheads). It is the supermarkets who choose to sell cheaper. Martin |
