The reference to using wooden letters comes from Peter Bryant's research from Oxford psychology lab. If it works with letters, it is a good bet that wooden numerals will work too. Using multi-sensory techniques is in every one of Martin Turner's reports for dyslexic children that I have ever read. He plucks nothing from thin air - it is all researched and evidenced. For sensory integration information Jean Ayres is a good read. Sensory Integration and the Child ISBN 0-87424-158-8. Also try The Out of Synch child by Kranowitz 0-399-52386-3.
