Have you tried the Abacus tests? I understand that they are tailored to the needs of the children of a particular level and can be marked in such a way as to get an accurate level for a child. Level 1/2 tasks are available on-line from the QCA site ----- Original Message ---- From: Jean Dowding <jeanld at fish.co.uk> To: Jean Dowding <jeanld at fish.co.uk> Cc: senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk Sent: Saturday, 5 January, 2008 2:37:07 PM Subject: Re: [senco-forum] Tests for children not doing the KS 2 SATs? I should have added that these were tasks, rather than pencil and paper tests, especially for Maths. We found the maths ones really useful, as they came with resources (dice; shapes; coloured rods etc) depending on the content, which could be used as general resources once the SATs time was over! If you needed the packs for only one child, a spare was always included, which also came in useful! Free resouces like this were the only things we missed when Wales ended SATs.
