We have pupils coming at Maths 1c. They are usually in a very small set with about 8 pupils all working at level 1 and 2c but taught by a maths teacher, there might also be TA support. Sometimes though we might take out a pupil for one to one maths as well/instead of some lessons. The pupils working at these levels are usually at similar levels for literacy but some at Level 1 and 2 for English are better as Maths and may be Level 3. We have so many pupils working at Level 3 and below that they are part of the norm and have differentiated work and in class support. Pupils Level 2 in English and below are taught English by English teachers (small sets) with support but also have some literacy withdrawal. Do the children that are struggling with reading/literacy have similar problems in maths. In secondary schools if a child is working at L3 or below are they taken out in small groups or are there enough pupils at that level to cater for their needs in a class. Is any support/teaching provided by a teacher or is all support through a TA. _________________________________________________________________ Free games, great prizes - get gaming at Gamesbox. http://www.searchgamesbox.com The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
