I think all my TAs are EBD. (on a bad day) ..and they are always telling me I've got special needs...........! -----Original Message----- From: senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk [mailto:senco-forum-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk] On Behalf Of Lynne Moody Sent: 22 January 2008 16:41 To: senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk Subject: Re: [SENco-forum] SENco's & SEN In our team of 10, 6 of us are parents of children who have either dyspraxia, dyscalculia,ADHD, CAPD, dyslexia or CP. No need to buy a book! ----- Original Message ---- From: "SEN at tringham.net" <SEN at tringham.net> To: Sheridan <sheridan.sharp1 at btinternet.com>; Becta Senco <senco-forum at lists.becta.org.uk> Sent: Tuesday, 22 January, 2008 12:57:52 PM Subject: RE: [SENco-forum] SENco's & SEN How many SENco's or educations specialists with SEN? Most of the SpLD teachers I know trained in dyslexia or got into SEN support because they had a child with dyslexia, as did Prof . Angela Fawcett (DST). Of the 6 SENco's I have dealt with the 3 with likely dyslexia, or any SEN in the family were the most understanding and easiest to deal with. So 50% based on that SENco sample and 80% (?) of Sheridan's specialist tutors. Sharon Tringham ........... I think I mentioned before out of a team of twelve specilist SpLD tutors 10 of us have children with SEN, three of us teachers are also dyslexic. The senco and my closest colleague in my main school also have children with SEN. So I guess the percentage is very high. Sheridan No virus found in this outgoing message.
