Anyway, French teacher runs out of class crying - straight to the
Headmaster's office (my class had previously been disruptive!)and stands
behind Headmaster as he states "hands up if you want to study French.
Good, now go to the right hand side of the class. The rest of you go to
the left hand side of the class and you will never be taught French in
this school again (or words to that effect) bring in a magazine" - end
of French for yours truly and others!

Ah, the good ol' days!

I was a teenager in the 70's and colleagues of mine threw a teacher down
a
set of stone stairs and threw rocks at the occasional passing bus.

But things are so much better now.
