[SENco-forum] Aston Test

The PATOSS site tests are for Secondary and my students are only 8 years
old.  They complete a series of 1 or 2 minute tests one after the other to a
total of 10 minutes.  After a break for the Free writing instructions they
then write for 5 minutes.  Secondary need to show they can write for 20
minutes under test conditions.

Writing speed is a really hard thing to isolate as whatever test you use
involves some other aspect such as sequencing, spelling, or thinking.  The
free writing test gives a very good overall look at content etc., as per the
Aston indications and the new Secondary norms available on the PATOSS site
are really great for older students.

Has anyone used DASH the new Detailed Assessment for Speed of Handwriting?
I would love to know what it comprises as it is suitable for age 9+

Go on the Patoss web site.  The writing test should be for 20 mins.
