You have done the right thing in seeking voluntary permission, but the English teacher really does not have any choice in the matter. The student can seek backing via the Disability Discrimination Act as this method of working has been deemed a 'reasonable adjustment' to enable her to work independently and it is up to the school to ensure that the reasonable adjustment is made. The wider issue is should all students be allowed to do this or can it be done only on EP say so? Alternatively teachers could record every lesson. - Edited versions could then be uploaded to the website for any student to access if it supports their style of learning. Alternatively bits could be played back to students /parents in the case of unruly or disruptive behaviour. Too intrusive? Sharon Tringham No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG. Version: 7.5.518 / Virus Database: 269.21.6/1318 - Release Date: 07/03/2008 14:01 |
