Article: [senco-forum] [SENco-forum] Dyslexia and general learning needs

I don't usually bother a lot with theory unless I can get something practical out of it and it was v. interesting to read your views (as always). One thing Janice really says really strikes a chord: it is heartbreaking seing children struggling with reading.
I am fed up with all the government 'initiatives' and 'strategies' and reports and, to some extent, all the different miracle cures that have emerged as a result.I don't think there is a one reason why some children can't read, but several, as you pointed out.
Incidentally, has a comparative study of all the different approaches to reading difficulties in terms of success rate ever been carried out ?
