Janice

Sorry to hear about your tumble hope you are not to sore today . Did you report to Health and Safety Officer?

We use the gym and it gets covered by a very large tarpaulin not plastic . This however still presents a trip hazard as it moves about and rucks up .

The biggest problem we have in the gym especially as we move into main exam period is the heat . The very high windows have no blinds and let in very little air - it has been known for students to pass out in the heat and once one of the invigilators collapsed. We now have a supply of cold water outside just in case students doing longer papers begin to flag.

Take care

> I was wondering - I fell flat on my face yesterday - in front of 130 SATS students and 4 teachers - in the gym because I tripped over the plastic sheeting they put on to protect the gym surface.
> Battered and bruised at home today - horrid. Just glad I didn't break anything or knock myself out.
> Anyway, I was wondering what do your schools put over the floor.
> And also - if they are covered in similar stuff - please be careful because you could fall over too.
> Cheers
