Hi Janice Poor you! Bad enough to fall over but in front of everyone is horrid. I hope you are feeling better now. To answer your question: For thirty years, our gym floor has been covered at exam time with thick cardboard arranged in rows, with holes and spaces to fit round hte gym equipment, doors etc. It is held in place with six inch wide tape. Originally made by our original caretaker, it takes about four hours to put down and at least an hour to take up and store. The smlall army of 'lads who help' really enjoy doing it but it does mean that they miss some lessons - it simply cannot be put down by one person. Never known anyone to fall over in the gym because of the covering either. We didn't have to invigilate SATs this year - the paid invigilators did it. Lovely - had two extra non-contacts on Friday when I usually have Year 9. Battered and bruised at home today - horrid. Just glad I didn't break anything or knock myself out. Anyway, I was wondering what do your schools put over the floor. And also - if they are covered in similar stuff - please be careful because you could fall over too.
