This arrangement is available in England and Wales, but the schools have to
convert the exam paper themselves. We are given one hour 'early opening' of
the exam paper to get it arranged. Many pupils can be in one room with one
invigilator and no extra staff.

It may take longer to listen to a text-reader than a "normal" silent reading
pace, but these are pupils whose reading speed is on the first or second
percentile, so it's faster for them. Nevertheless, they may be given extra
time if needed.

If they need extra time they get it.

TES Scotland had a piece about more SEN pupils
being able to do exams on computers.

  >Exam papers go digital
Scotland is the first part of the UK to offer digital papers to exam
candidates, as an alternative to scribes and readers for pupils
requiring support.<

So presumably all these pupils could be in one room.

I wonder if they get extra time.
It takes longer to listen to text-reading software
than a normal silent reading pace.

I hope the exam setters listen to their papers.
I have only listened to a little bit of a sample,
but the heading had a Roman numeral I
which was read as the name of the capital, 'eye'.

How long will it be before this option is available
to all pupils in England who warrant a reader?
