Linda I see it as my responsibility in consultation with parents (sometimes) and teachiong staff to identify students who may need access arrangements . I do my own access arrangements and complete the paperwork . This then goes to the exams officer who completes the candidates number and exams they are being entered for before submitting to boards . Unless the application is rejected I hear no more until the immediate run up to exams etc. However I am considering asking the exams officer to let me know the result of all applications as they come back to school as recently I put paperwork in for PRU dual registered student - heard nothing so assumed it was okay only to discover two weeks ago the exams officer had not entered because we as a school were not entering him for exams on site . We had to rush it all through. I will be checking all returns in future simply to cover my back in today's blame society . If you were not part of the process when original application made /or did the assessments then you technically cant be held responsible. The blame would lie with the person who did not fulfill their role in the chain . Missing paperwork ? Check with the boards ? If they have no record then whoever responsible for submitting to board would be at fault. Ultimately the Head of the Centre is responsible - they simply delegate the job down. I am also very paranoid and throw nothing away - i keep paper copy in student file /electronic copy in student file on school system and i enter into my diary the date I pass the paperwork to exams officer . I only dispose of from my office to central filing when student has left school and then it is kept for 5 years .
