  Hi Mary (and others),

  I'm very sorry about that - I had not realised that since we released 
the updated version (V3), the demo offering hadn't been updated.

I've just placed a demo version of Chatback on the server and adjusted 
the link to point to it, so if you would like to revisit the url below, 
you should now find that you can download the demo file.

  The drawback about providing demos, is the lack of a user guide, and 
so you should find a pdf version within the download.  Chatback is 
really a very simple program to use, once you have got the hang of it, 
but I did find that it was one of those things that is more difficult to 
describe than actually do!

  I didn't know that Arrow is now computer-based.  When we were writing 
the very first version of Chatback for Acorn computers (which rather 
dates it..) - I was halfway there when somebody told me about 'the Arrow 
machine' - which turned out to be pretty much the same thing as I had 
been aiming at creating with Chatback.  Back then, being able to record, 
and hear your own voice coming out of the computer was all heady stuff; 
it's amazing what we take for granted these days.

I hope that you'll find Chatback to be of interest, if you have any
