Article: [senco-forum] Dore - UK as well!

How glad am I that Dore seems to have been shown the door at last .

If I had a pound for every time one of the PE teachers in my school said they had recommended it to students and parents as a "cure " for dyslexia simply on the recommendation of Scott Quinnel and Kenny Logan I could retire. Well it worked for them so something must be good about it is their theory.

I have no doubt that some of it may have benefited some people . A couple of parents have sworn by it for their children and have told me that nothing we have done in school has helped their offspring (bit insulting I felt )yet they are the students who have made the least progress compared to similar students . During a recent mentoring session with one of the students doing DORE when talikng about revision programme for GCSEs the student said that he could not do as much revision as was being recommended because he was doing DORE . I await the results in August.
