Hi we are a secondary school 1300 on roll, approx 45 statements and a >> register of 150. Of the statements we have 8 physically disabled students who warrant full time TA support. There is me - learning support coordinator (SEN / G&T) on top TLR scale whatever that is these days! Bulk of the money is for SEN with the equavalent of 1 point for GT. I teach 14 / 30 lessons and have the majority of those non contact as "blocked LS time" so I can only be used for cover etc for 5 lessons. I have one SEN tutor who teaches 4 days - qualified teacherr who takes withdrawal lessons including thoise who don't do French. The rest of the Learning Support Team are TAs - 18 altogether. I have a "Team Leader" who is responsible for the day to day organisation of the TAs (my deputy really) and a Senior TA who is her deputy. Another TA is rtesponsible for exam access arrangements and another is Welfare for PD pupils who need physio. One TA has a speech & Lang qualification so is responsible for programmes in that area. All the rest are either qualified (NVQ L3 or equival;ent) or unqualified (below NVQ L3) I line manage the whole team but my 2 depuities line manage up to 5/6 TAs for performance management. As far as pastoral is concerned I'm the link. I attend a weekly inclusion panel meeting with one year head (LAC/ Child Protection)/ Assistant head i/c pastoral, Attendance officer. I also go to pastoral meetings to liaise with all year heads. I hope this helps - if you want more info just ask.
