Article: [senco-forum] delegated SEN monies

Under the Government Strategy guidance to LAs on delegation schemes
there is a requirement for LAs to monitor the use of the delgated
funds. So Barbara's LA are obviously carrying out thsi duty -- but many
LAs are not. Where they are -- SENCos are likely to see -- if not be
involved in -- making the monitoring returns to the LA.

So all SENCos in the dark should be asking to see any communications
about use of delegated funds to LAs

I know exactly though would have to look it up! For the past few years
all Essex Sencos have had to complete a Evaluation plan which includes
a finances page which has to be completed with the help of
headteacher/bursur; it was put in to make it easy for SEncos to find
out as some were not in the picture.

Dear all,

I am interested to know how many secondary SENCOs know how much SEN/AEN
monies come into schools.

Certainly I have no idea how much money is available and therefore can
only guess at costings for interventions.

I am at the mercy of the head and governing body. They appear generous,
but I am not put in a position to judge.

Confused of a London Borough.
