| Article: [senit] Responses via Wm Hague on BECTA SEN changes | |
|
Hello everyone After reading Ann's email I wrote to Christine Vincent (Director at Becta with special responsibility for inclusion) asking for clarification. She mentioned three areas that will be set up in the future: 1. A feedback session/seminar to interested parties at BETT on how our new working practices are shaping up. 2. An Expert Reference Group to support Becta's thinking in terms of the personalisation agenda and inclusion. 3. Work with existing stakeholder groups to help formulate our thinking on a cross sector framework for assistive technologies. (Christine's words not mine) So nothing concrete arranged yet so we shall have to wait and see. I'm still in the dark about Stephen Crowne's statement: > As you will know. senior Becta colleagues met Jeff Hughes and other MPs > at a recent parliamentary lobby, to discuss their concerns. We invited > groups interested in SEN and Inclusion to attend both our regular > forums, and a special seminar which we are planning for early next year. > where we will report on the outcome of our evaluation of our new approach > and seek views on how we should move forward. If Stephen Crowne thinks Jeff Hughes is an MP we have some work to do! I wonder who the 'groups interested in SEN and Inclusion were? Did anyone on SENIT get invited as part of whatever groups were invited? I don't belong to any groups apart from SENIT so that cuts me out.
