Trish this update is welcomed dave Mitchell -----Original Message----- From: senit-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk [mailto:senit-bounces at lists.becta.org.uk] Sent: 18 September 2006 12:02 To: senit at lists.becta.org.uk Subject: Re: [senit] Becta reorganisation I have had a reply via Harriet Harman from Stephen Crowne (Chief Executive Becta). It is too much to copy into this email but it about SEN expertise within Becta to be available across the whole curriculum rather than concentrated in one centralised team, support inclusion, full time inclusion policy advisor and that he will be monitoring the impact of this new approach closely and evaluating it carefully over the coming year. ' Each of our six programmes of work will be developed to ensure that all activities and outcomes are inclusive. We will maintain and develop our in house expertise, in particular around assistive technologies, to ensure that all our programmes, project and stakeholders have access to the best evidence and advice' It goes on to say that 'senior Becta colleagues met Jeff Hughes and other MPs at a recent parliamentary lobby, to discuss their concerns. We invited groups interested in SEN and Inclusion to attend both our regular forms, and a special seminar which we are planning for early next year, where will report on the outcomes of our evaluation of our new approach and seek views on how we should move forward'. So lets see what is going to happen.
