All are mostly similar going from simple cause and effect single action to switch scanning through intermediate stages of switch choice and switch timing. They mostly talk about a progression in switch access but It is not too difficult to slot in different access devices. Most are linked with the P levels The ones on the Scope and the Meldreth sites are developments of each other. I have a progression that is a further development of them both with a better fit to the P levels, including supporting activities and includes pointing devices (mice, touchscreen), but I haven't published it anywhere. If you would like a copy then email me. Linda Burkharts writing http://www.lburkhart.com/handouts.htm is well worth reading especially Getting Past Learned Helplessness for Children Who Face Severe Challenges: Four Secrets for Success Two Switches for Success: Access for Children with Severe Physical and/or Multiple Challenges Richard Walter Meldreth Manor School |
