Hi Chris, Many thanks for this - it looks very interesting. Some educational applications jump out, at least for some of our pupils: A tool for encouraging children who perhaps need extra motivation to reach and stretch, in other words an element of their movement work / physiotherapy, eye-hand coordination, turn-taking, social interaction in terms of sharing an activity, a stimulus for communication..... I think Wendy Keay-Bright's work on Reactive Colours would work well on a display system like this: http://www.reactivecolours.org It also reminded me of something I saw on the web a while ago where some software had been developed to allow multiple touch on a touchscreen, to encourage collaborative use. I think it was the first time I'd come across YouTube, a great resource: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp-y3ZNaCqs Regards, Sean O'Sullivan sean.frankwise at easynet.co.uk Deputy Headteacher Frank Wise School, Banbury http://www.frankwise.oxon.sch.uk http://www.parkroadict.co.uk On 22 Sep 2006, at 10:27, Chris Howles wrote: > Visited a company, beta minds, to see some interactive display > technologies. > www.betaminds.com > > Their quote about one of their products. > http://www.betaminds.com/interactfx/index.htm > "Interact FX is a groundbreaking solution for gesture based > interaction. > Interaction based on normal human gesticulation enables people to get > involved without any introduction, because their normal intuitive > movements is all that is needed.
