Using a script is a good solution as it will ensure that each computer has the latest set of custom graphics. I use a script (the logon BAT script) to ensure that the wordlist file is up-to-date in the local folder on each client machine before the user has logged on. However there's no need to use a script to download the graphics as you can tell WWS2000 that the graphics in your custom wordlist (or part of you main wordlist) are sitting on the server. The windows registry contains the keys: HKLM\Software\Widgit\wws3\resources\resdir3\ & HKLM\Software\Widgit\wws3\resources\resdir4\ The first (resdir3) relates to the location of MyPicsA and resdir4 relates to MyPicsB. On our custom wordlist (which loads in addition to the main wordlist) all our custom pictures are stored in MyPicsA so we just need to ensure that the correct registry entry points to the server on each client PC. HKLM\Software\Widgit\wws3\resources\resdir3\ (MyPicsA) contains two string entries: Alias = "MyResources1" Path = "\\\\server\\symbols\\graphics\\" The Alias remains unchanged but the Path needs to change to match the location of your graphics on the server. Notice that the \'s in the path have to double-up so \\server becomes \\\\server. It would be inconvenient to set this registry entry on each client PC. Instead it can be entered on to the server as a Group Policy Object (GPO) that automatically updates all clients within its scope. Our WWS2000 GPO also contains an entry that forces each copy of WWS to load our custom wordlist in addition to its default wordlist (which may be PCS, WLS, Makaton or whatever depending on the user). Also i know i mentioned this in a previous email but i always install the PCS/WLS symbols to the local hard drive to increase network performance and wws2000's reliability. Only the custom symbol set is stored on the server. Well i hope that was understandable! Any questions or corrections please respond on the list unless they're very very specific.
