Hi, Its running Firefox 2.0.0.7 so the accessibar goes straight on via the browser as do themes, google toolbar and the usual suchlike. Firevox with freeTTS works, but this is a command line install and a little more messing about than it should be. The Linux OS shouldn't put anyone off - most people wouldn't even notice, but for the faint hearted there's an 8Gb/Windows version shipping in Q2 2008...and Windows XP drivers come with it now of course if you're inclined to install it yourself. I recently came across this comparison between the ASUS eee PC and Nokia's N810 internet tablet. http://tinyurl.com/2mgryy The comparison may not be so relevant here but it makes interesting reading. If you use web applications then the use of Linux is largely irrelevant. The fast start up time and low power is not. Simon I'd love to know if the web browser (Splashtop, based on Mozilla Firefox) supports the many Firefox accessibility options and add-ons mentioned on http://www.accessfirefox.com It would be great to see one of these at the Fringe. -- Steve Lee -- Jambu - Alternative Access to Computers www.fullmeasure.co.uk |
