I hope Matt's experience illustrates that Tina D. and Widgit have always done their best to be flexible and approachable. It's a tough one for us..... finding the balance of helping to make information accessible to all but covering the expense of paying the wages that create the symbols. Also remember that symbolised info and docs can be shared across an LA or organisation when the individual sites viewing these resources have purchased a Widgit program with the newest WLS set (WWS 2.6+ or CIP). When you have purchased one of these programs you have paid your royalty for our symbols. We have more and more authorities looking to purchase a single user licence of CIP for every school to cover themselves for this very reasons........ And never be afraid to ask. We don't bite, I promise! :-) -Tina -- Christina LaMarca Special Education Needs Consultant Widgit Software, Logotron Ltd. 124 Cambridge Science Park Milton Rd, Cambridge, CB4 0ZS tel: 01223 425558 ext 773 mob: 07770 381514 web: www.widgit.com Matthew Harrison wrote: >In terms of the Portland Partnership's VLE that we discussed before >Christmas, the project team actually met with Tina Detheridge early on >in the VLE's development in order to discuss symbol use.
